The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is the agency within the US Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. Their mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America's communities. They do this through educational programs that span a multitude of mental health diagnoses, substance abuse diagnoses, working to create equity in access to mental healthcare across all communities, and connecting clients / patients with providers and solutions through their National Helpline.
